Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using our centralized campus network platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the platform. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the platform operators regarding your use of all services, features, and content provided.
Eligibility and Campus Affiliation
You must be affiliated with an educational institution to use this platform. During onboarding, you must provide accurate information including your real name and select your correct campus. Each user is assigned a campus-id that restricts content visibility to their specific campus community. Misrepresentation of campus affiliation or identity is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account termination.
Account Registration and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use. The platform uses Firebase for authentication; you agree to their terms as well. We reserve the right to disable accounts that violate these terms or remain inactive for extended periods.
Role Hierarchy and Responsibilities
The platform operates with a defined role system: overlord (platform administration), campus-admin (campus-specific management), club-admin (organization leadership), journalist (content creators), and broadcaster (official announcements). Role assignments determine your permissions and responsibilities. Users with elevated roles must act in the best interest of their campus community. Abuse of role privileges, including unauthorized access or actions beyond your assigned scope, will result in immediate demotion or ban.
User Conduct and Content Standards
You agree to use the platform lawfully and respectfully. Prohibited activities include: harassment, hate speech, discrimination, spam, malware distribution, unauthorized data scraping, impersonation, and any illegal activities. Content posted must be relevant to the campus community. We employ AI filtering and manual moderation to enforce these standards. Users are solely responsible for their posts, marketplace listings, projects, and comments.
Posts and Content Creation
Journalists may create posts on various topics, while broadcasters and club-admins can make official announcements. All content must respect intellectual property rights. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and promote your content within the platform. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms or community guidelines without prior notice. Featured and recommended content selections are at our discretion.
Marketplace Rules and Transactions
Marketplace listings are limited to 5 images per product and require phone number verification. By listing an item, you agree that your phone number will be visible to authenticated users viewing your listing for purchase inquiries. All transactions are conducted offline between users; we do not facilitate payments or guarantee transactions. Prohibited items include illegal goods, weapons, counterfeit products, and items violating campus policies. Our AI filters listings, but we are not liable for fraudulent or inaccurate listings. Users must comply with local laws regarding sales and taxes.
Projects and Intellectual Property
Users may showcase projects with domain and label classifications. You retain ownership of your projects but grant us license to display them on the platform. You must not infringe on others' intellectual property rights. Plagiarism or misrepresentation of work is prohibited. We are not responsible for disputes regarding project ownership or originality between users.
Events and Team Formation
Events listings and team formation features are provided for campus community building. We do not guarantee the success or organization of events listed. Users participating in team formation do so at their own discretion. Event organizers are responsible for their own logistics, safety, and compliance with campus regulations. We reserve the right to remove event listings that violate policies.
AI Chatbot Usage
The AI chatbot on the help page is provided for guidance only. Responses are automated and may not always be accurate. Do not rely on the chatbot for legal, financial, or critical decisions. We are not liable for actions taken based on chatbot advice. Conversations may be monitored and logged for quality improvement.
Privacy and Data Usage
Your use of the platform is subject to our Privacy Policy. We collect and process data as described therein, including campus-id tracking, role assignments, and action logs. While we implement security measures, you acknowledge that no online platform is completely secure. You consent to our use of service providers including Firebase, Redis, and potential advertising partners as outlined in the Privacy Policy.
Advertising and Third-Party Links
We may display advertisements on the platform. We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or websites linked from our platform. Interactions with advertisers are solely between you and the advertiser. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers, but may share aggregated, non-identifiable data for targeting purposes.
Termination and Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms, illegal activity, or platform abuse. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. Certain provisions of these terms survive termination, including intellectual property rights and liability limitations. You may delete your account at any time through profile settings.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The platform is provided 'as is' without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free service. We are not responsible for the accuracy of user-generated content, marketplace transactions, or event listings. Your use of the platform is at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform. This includes damages for lost profits, data loss, or personal injury from marketplace meetings or events. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past twelve months, or one hundred dollars if no payment was made.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the platform operators, campus-admins, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, your content, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights. This includes disputes arising from marketplace transactions or event participation.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the platform is primarily operated. Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be settled through binding arbitration in the designated jurisdiction, except where prohibited by law.
Modifications to Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. We will notify users of significant changes through platform announcements. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically.
Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and the platform regarding use of services, superseding any prior agreements. Failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver.
